Ben showed interest in singing from the age of 11 after a solo part at his school performance. As parents, we wanted to give him the best chance we could, so we initially found him a singing teacher who took him to grade 8… but Ben was needing more!
After searching the internet 2018 Courtney Hadwin was the hot name after she got the golden buzzer on Americas Got Talent. I looked into who she was using as her vocal coach and the name Julie Miles came back.
After a long chat with Julie, she instantly knew what Ben needed and our first 2hr lesson was booked.
Julie welcomed us to her studio and we took our first look, WOW. Julie’s studio was a professional workspace with a stage, wireless mics TV screens, and much more even a place for the parents to sit and relax after a 3hr car journey.
Julie took Ben through new breathing techniques, scales, how to hold the mic, and high notes he could never hit before, we knew we had struck gold with Julie, and Ben had got that professional pop sound he needed. After several lessons, some online and some face to face, Ben’s vocals became stronger and more confident, so we started auditioning again, every audition we attended Ben got a yes in the room and this was all down to Julie’s lessons and coaching.
